Chutney make an important part of meal in India with the combination of tomato and red chilli gives a delicious taste.


Oil 2-3 tsp
Fresh red chillies 10 nos
Tomatoes 4 nos
Salt To taste
Urad dal ½ tsp
Chana dal ½ tsp
Soaked tamarind 5 gms
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Fenugreek seeds 1 pinch
Curry leaves 1 spring


1. Heat oil in a pan, add fresh red chillies, tomatoes, salt, urad dal, chana dal and saute it, later cook slightly.

2. Add soaked tamarind and saute it, switch off flame.

3. Transfer into mixie jar and allow it cool later blend it coarsely.

4. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and saute it.

5. Add coarse paste and mix nicely.

6. Now red chilli tomato chutney is ready to serve.
